This is the second week into our month of focusing on backbends. We spend so much of our day with the spine in a position where it tends to flex a little bit forward. This happens, for example, when we are on our computers and cell phones. Also, we are mostly oriented forward in the ways we engage with the world around us (walking, seeing, smelling, talking…) Yoga offers us many back bending poses that help counter balance all the “forwardness” in our daily lives.
